HONOURS   &   AWARDS

UNDER   THE   NATIONAL   HONOURS   AND   AWARDS   (MEDAL   OF   HONOUR)   (JAMAICA   FIRE   BRIGADE)   REGULATIONS   1970,   OFFICIAL   STATE   RECOGNITION   MAY   BE   CONFERRED   ON   FIRE   BRIGADE   PERSONNEL   FOR   BRAVERY,   MERITORIOUS   SERVICE,   DISTINGUISHED   DEEDS   AND   LONG   SERVICE.


THESE   AWARDS   ARE   IN   THREE   CATEGORIES:-



MEDAL   OF   HONOUR
FOR
GALLANTRY

AWARDED TO MEMBERS OF THE JAMAICA FIRE BRIGADE
WHO HAVE PERFORMED ACTS OF GALLANTRY OR ACTS OF HEROISM OR HAVE
SHOWN GREAT COURAGE IN CIRCUMSTANCES OF EXTREME DANGER.


This Medal is worn with a ribbon one and a half inches in width with one central red stripe one-quarter of an inch in width and green border of the same width. On each side of the red stripes are gold stripes one quarter of an inch in width which are separated from the green borders by black stripes one-eight of an inch wide.






MEDAL   OF   HONOUR
FOR
MERITORIOUS   SERVICE


AWARDED TO SUB-OFFICERS AND FIREFIGHTERS OF THE JAMAICA FIRE BRIGADE WHO
HAVE COMPLETED 18 YEARS CONTINUOUS SERVICE IN THE JAMAICA FIRE BRIGADE AND WHOSE CONDUCT AND CHARACTER HAVE BEEN EXEMPLARY.



This Medal is worn with a ribbon one and a half inches in width with one central green stripe approximately one-quarter of an inch in width bordered on either side by gold stripes and black stripes on either end. All five stripes are equal in width.

FOR
LONG   SERVICE   &   GOOD   CONDUCT





AWARDED TO MEMBERS OF THE JAMAICA FIRE BRIGADE
WHO HAVE PERFORMED DISTINGUISHED SERVICE OR HAVE DISPLAYED
DISTINGUISHED CONDUCT OR BRAVERY.

This Medal is worn with a ribbon one and a half inches in width with one central stripe in gold three-quarter of an inch in width and green borders one-quarter of an inch wide. The gold stripe and the green borders are separated by black stripes one-eight of an inch wide.
